Here at Complexions our Active Medical Grade peels are compounded of Lactic, Mandelic, Glycolic, Retinoic, Salicylic, Resorcinol and Trichloroacetic Acid.
Each Peel is recommended for correcting different concerns, relating to the individual. The procedure works to break down proteins within the skin which results in exfoliation of skin cells. They remove damaged or abnormal cells in order to replace them with healthy and more organised cells. Through the stimulation of inflammation deeper in the skin chemical peels can also stimulate new collagen formation resulting in thicker, healthier skin.
These peels are designed to not only improve skin texture, tone but also help correct those tell-tale signs of ageing such as fine to moderate lines and sun damage.

TCA Peel.
TCA - an acronym for Trichloroacetic Acid is medium - deep depth peel which results in slightly longer down time, with more of a ‘peeling’ effect afterwards. This peel penetrates deep into the skin and are great way to treat sun damage, scarring, fine lines & wrinkles. TCA peels can also target pigmentation and willstimulate Collagen & Elastin production. Downtime can vary from 5-7 days post peel.

Jessner Peel.
Jessner peel is a medium - deep depth peel slightly less intense than the TCA Peel. The main ingredient of this peel is salicylic acid, which helps the peel penetrate the skin efficiently and removes oil and dead skin cells, making them particularly effective for oily/acne skin conditions, enlarged pores. Jessner peels can even be used on the body for any congested areas. Other ingredients of the peel include Resorcinol and Lactic acid meaning it is a great all rounder peel for those looking to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well, and for a more intense exfoliation than our more superficial peels.
